About us
History
The Ethiopian Full Gospel Believers’ Church (EFGBC) is a Pentecostal Christian denomination founded in Ethiopia. The Church was established during a prayer conference held at the University of Addis Ababa in the mid of 1965 in the City of Addis Ababa. It was then officially founded in 1967. By the end of year 2015, the Church had 2,143 congregations and over 4,5 million members.
Church leaders from all locations convened to establish an organizing body durin g the year 1974, and was named the Ethiopian Full Gospel Believers Church. The Church received national recogniton in November 10, 1991 in accordance with the constitutional provision of the religious liberty and freedom of worship, following decades of persecution both by the outgoing socialist government and other failth based groups.
As of 2024, the Church has over 3892 local churches and eight thousand 8000 daughter churches serving having members exceed 10 million.
The Church has expanded into the rest of the African continent, Europe, Asia and North America. The Boston branch is the third church established in USA.
Leadership
The Church follows group leadership in accordance with its constitution. Currently, the Church is led by a Pastor and Elders.
